Introducing the IDEA Mississauga website

Earlier this year, the city of Mississauga and its Economic Development Office proudly introduced their brand new IDEA Mississauga website aimed at boosting the city’s status as a global leader in innovation.

At the announcement of the new project, Mayor Crombie, his councillors, and the city’s Economic Development office stressed the importance of the notion that IDEA Mississauga represents the city and its entire ecosystem as a whole, rather than just one specific location.

The new innovation symbolizes all of the traditional economic pillars of the city, including industry, government, and education. However, it also serves to represent, symbolise, and support all members of the city that aim to provide space and programs to support innovation.

Specifically, Mississauga’s government officials explained how the new programme is set for growth and expansion so that local entrepreneurs are better served to function at optimal levels of innovation and growth.

As part of the city’s plans to bring this vision to life and to ensure that the identity is representative of the entire city, not simply just one location, the local government has partnered with Globalgraphics Web Design Team for the creation of a new Virtual Innovation Hub.

Working closely alongside Mississauga’s Economic Development Office, the Globalgraphics team have created a virtual hub and a place in which entrepreneurs, innovators and scale-up companies are able to connect with IDEA Mississauga even if they are not directly located within the innovation district.

This virtual hub provides organisations and individuals with the opportunity to receive access to regional support and resources. The assets and tools featured on the site serve to greatly accelerate the scale-up journey of businesses within Mississauga, helping both regional businesses and the city as a whole as it further establishes itself as a global pillar in innovation.

Thanks to the technical know-how of those at Globalgraphics, the hub is easily navigated and includes features such as:

  • A concierge tool, to produce a list of pragmatic resources tailored to each individual specific business and their needs.
  • An asset map, outlining more than 135 industry, government, education, and service providers that have a proven track record for driving innovation and start-ups.
  • Industry and business experts/mentors
  • A series of training webinars
  • Opportunities to network with relevant and vital business contacts.
  • Regional business news, alongside relevant stories of success.
